Perfectly Imperfect

Hello, my wonderful readers and welcome back!

Today, we're gonna talk about mankind's never ending obsession with perfection.

Tell me, when was the last time you looked at yourself in the mirror and saw something wrong. An hour ago, maybe? And your entire day was probably ruined because of that one flaw, maybe the t-shirt didn't look nice or your hair looked ridiculous or you felt as if you had gained weight. And, in the worst case scenario, you saw someone pretty online and then when you say yourself, you didn't like it. But where do all of these ridiculous comparisons and at time, self-hatred come from?

My best guess: that's what we're told ever since we're born. That you always have to be the best and if you can't be that, all of society is gonna do whatever they can to change you and make you one of those perfect people who always have the best looks, the best wardrobe, the best grades, the best literally everything. And to you, their life will be rainbows and sunshine. But that's not true. Those perfect people will have complexes because there will always be someone who'll be more perfect than them.

So, what we learn from this is that there's no use of going through life striving to be perfect and trying to fulfill everyone's demands and meet the expectations of every single person you meet as it's just not possible. As what you may call ugly may be beautiful in the eyes of someone else and vice versa! I'm not saying that wanting to be perfect may be bad. You can be perfect at your work, at school, in what you do. But striving to look perfect is impossible.

Wanting that perfect face, that perfect body shape, that perfect shiny hair, that perfect height and trying to match up to all those unrealistic beauty standards is impractical because no matter how hard you try, it's unachievable. And imagine if you even managed to do it, you managed to look perfect, and fit every category of society's beauty standards, at the end of the day, when you look in the mirror, you'll not see yourself rather a person buried underneath a 100 filters who has lost what makes them unique and different from the rest.

So all I'm saying is that love yourself and embrace every flaw that you have as those are what truly make you you. It's completely okay to not look picture perfect everyday and have those days when you just wanna stay in your pajamas and binge on ice-cream the whole day long. And hear me out, the people that love you when you're in your pajamas with your messy hair are the ones you should surround yourself with, not the ones who love you when you're all dolled up but ridicule you when you aren't all dressed up. And let's not forget two important things: self love and self acceptance.

You weren't made to be perfect but to be weird, crazy, fun, unique and most importantly, to embrace yourself and all those flaws which make you wonderful. So accept yourself as you are and cherish it. And if you can love your family and friends, why not love yourself too? And a little self love goes a loooooonnnnnngggg way!!!

So, don't give a damn about anyone who tells you don't look good cause they don't have the right to do that. And take care that you don't do it either. Whenever you think someone doesn't look nice online or offline, stop yourself before making a mean comment as you may never realize the impact it may have and how much it'll hurt them. The world is already filled with a lot of hatred and judgement, so let's all be a little more loving of ourselves and others and get to know people properly before we judge them in any way.

And lastly, if no one has told you this today, I'm saying it-

You are amazing. The world doesn't deserve you and how wonderful you are. You are an awesome friend and your family loves you infinitely much!! You are smart, have a beautiful smile and you are loved. Own your originality. Own your beautiful flaws. Own how beautifully broken and imperfectly perfect you are. All together you're a beautiful disaster.

That's it for today.

Thank you so much for reading this post. Tell me your opinions in the comments section below. I always love reading your thoughts.

Bye!

Take care.
