True Stories

Hello, readers. I'd like to start of with this question:- How many of you have dreamt about going to college? Chances are, most of you have, I have too. I've always imagined college as this place where you actually discover yourself, make lifelong friends, learn incredible new things and have the time of your life! Sound familiar? Now, for those of you who are in college, here's something for you:- Do you actually enjoy it there and is it really what movies show it to be?  Some of you may agree that it really is an awesome place and you love it there. But others...not so much. You may think why or how can someone not like college but I learnt some stuff that goes down beyond all of those friendships and classes. Here's something that I learnt about a particular college and the treatment of the students there. It was totally unexpected and tells a lot about what the juniors are facing on a daily basis. Everyone expected that they would form special bonds and have a lot o...

Fear

Fear.... Just the sound of it sends chills down your spine, right? All of us have fears. I, for one, am scared of failure. So, everytime I try something new or have to answer am exam or play guitar in front of people, I'm terrified of not being good enough or being laughed at. But, at the same time, I wonder if I'd regret not doing something out of fear!  I think all of us have faced this at some point in our lives.  Whether you're a teenager like me who is scared of the future and choosing the right career or you're a working person who's afraid of not being promoted even after working at a certain place for several years. Same goes for the people who have graduated college and are now worried about finding work or getting into the right university for further education. Seems like fear pretty much controls your life, doesn't it?  But it's not the truth. You have a choice either to let the demons win or defeat them and delete them from your life. This is go...

Hope

What is hope? All of us have been hearing the word 'hope' since a long time. The word as defined by the dictionary means, a feeling that something wanted may happen or something wished for. Growing up, we've heard sentences such as- " Have hope." or "Hope is all you need." or "Have hope and you'll have everything else." But how does it work? Try this:-  Sit down and close your eyes for a minute. Try to think about the last time when you felt you were all alone things were going terribly wrong and you had no idea what to do next. Now, try to think of situation or an event that was completely in contrast to this. After thinking about the happy and better incident, you may have this warm feeling inside. That is Hope.   We use hope so very often that we don't always realise it when we're using it. Some examples are trying to cook a recipe again and again until it's perfect, practising the same dance or song multiple time...
Hey, everyone!  This is Disha Joshi here. I'm a 13 year old and I'm in grade 8. Ever since we entered into the lockdown, we have been having mixed feelings. Boredom and anxiety have been major moods throughout. A few have been depressed and sad too as corona put a pause in everything that we had dreamt of achieving this year.  So to make your upcoming days -  which are juggling between lockdown and unlockdown-a bit more joyful, interesting and relaxing, I'm going to be here and talk about various stuff such as positivity, courage, faith, hope, love, equality, women empowerment and feminism. I'll also include a few posts about life from the view of people from different age groups and will share some of my write-ups too.   Here's a poem I recently wrote and I hope it puts you in a good mood.                        Happiness All of us crave for happiness In our daily lives.  But do we understand What it t...
